Patricia D. Williams began her disability advocacy career as a family caregier: first, her two-year daughter developed multiple and rare medical conditions and, later, learning disabilities. Then, caring for two aging parents, at first keeping them at home and later understanding when it was time to use the facilities of a nursing home. As founder of The Parent Support Group in Harlem, she and other parents of children with disabilities were able to share experiences to impro e the quality of life for themselves and their children. Successfully winning a personal war against anxiety and depression, Patricia is working on completion of her undergraduate degree in political science.
